What 2Do?

Hey lovelies! So, picture this: I'm working on this super cool mystery opening sequence for a film project, right? Everything's falling into place, but there's just one tiny hiccup—I have absolutely no clue what music to add to give it that perfect mysterious vibe. Talk about a head-scratcher!      But fear not, because guess what? I've got this awesome friend who's a total music buff, and they've kindly offered to swoop in and save the day. Yeah, I know, friends are the best!      We had a little chat about the vibe I'm going for—y'know, that eerie, spine-tingling feeling you get when you're on the edge of your seat wondering what's gonna happen next. And let me tell you, they're totally on the same page.      So, my friend and group member gonna work their magic and overlay a killer song onto the sequence to dial up the mystery factor to eleven. I'm talking about something that'll give you goosebumps and make you wanna peek t

Not my First Rodeo

Hey lovelies!   Let me spill the beans about my recent adventures in the world of filmmaking, specifically diving into the daunting task of crafting an opening sequence. Spoiler alert: it's been one heck of a ride, filled with ups, downs, and a whole lot of learning along the way.           So, picture this: I'm a newbie filmmaker, armed with a phone camera, an mission, and not much else. I'm all pumped up to tackle my first-ever opening sequence, thinking, "How hard could it be, right?" Well, let me tell you, it's like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded while riding a unicycle.      First off, there's the whole shebang of planning and storyboarding. Trying to map out a cohesive narrative that sets the tone for the entire project? Yeah, easier said than done. It's like trying to connect the dots when half of them are missing.      Then comes the filming part. You've got your actors, your locations, your equipment—all set to go. Bu

Hey lovelies! Let me take you on a journey through the exhilarating world of filming with your best pals. Picture this: a sunny day, a bunch of eager friends, and a camera ready to capture all the magic.      First things first, there's nothing quite like the energy and laughter that fills the air when you gather your crew for a filming adventure. From brainstorming wild ideas to raiding each other's closets for costumes, every moment is brimming with excitement.      Sure, we may not have the fanciest equipment or Hollywood budgets, but who needs those when you've got creativity and camaraderie on your side? We're all about DIY solutions and making the most of what we have.      As we set up our makeshift sets and rehearse our lines (often bursting into fits of giggles), it's clear that the fun is just getting started. There's something infectious about the shared enthusiasm and passion for bringing our ideas to life.      And let's not forget about

Props to You!

Hey lovelies! I'm glad to see you here once again! In this blog, I'll be going into all the props we used to film our opening sequence.     I'm gonna start with what we used to film. On the day of our filming, we agreed to use the best phone on set since everyone had iPhones. We know that iPhones have a reputation of good camera quality so it didn't seem like a big issue. Although I had the latest version there, I had a camera lens protector on that was actually cracked into various pieces so it made my back camera look a bit weird. Back story on that, I do not clearly remember what I did for that to happen lol. But all I know is that I'm thankful that I had it on cause if not something may have actually happened to my camera.      With that my phone was automatically disqualified. So we went with another group member who had an iPhone 13. I gotta say filming on these phones is so convenient, it's the only thing I've used to film on and it is very adap

Hey lovelies!! Welcome back to my blog! Today we are going to go over some editing that was done in order to piece our opening sequence. I hope you enjoy reading!     Throughout this process, I took a main part in directing the film and getting our scenes together. Saying this, my strong suit is in directing and coming up with new creative ideas to add in our film. While I didn't directly edit our project, I was deeply involved in the process. I communicated closely with my group member who took on the editing responsibilities and gave her some input here and there.     Already having brainstormed and written out our opening sequence, we were aligned on our vision for the opening sequence. Through our brainstorming in class and through the phone, we were able to map out the visual narrative we desired for this project. Here is when I gave lots of suggestions and feedback, to ensure that our initial idea was still being conveyed.      Collaboration and communication was k

And That's a Wrap

Hey lovelies!! Welcome back!! This is going to be my last blog regarding filming. In this blog, I will be talking about how the shooting day went and all that.      After going through so much just to get my car to school, the hardest part was over. Once school was over we gathered our things and headed over to my group member's house. Getting there was fine, it was not a long ride and was closer to my school than my own house. I drove a friend there since she did not have a mode of transportation to get there and we just talked all the way there.     On the way there, I knew that the atmosphere was going to be weird because they was still some tension due to the scheduling problem and I wanted it to be resolved before we started filming. Three of us go there at the same time and met up with our other member who got dropped off by her mom. Her and the girl I drove with me both had conflict with each other and did very well to hide it while filming.     Before we started I su

Hey lovelies!! Welcome back! I know my last blog was left off on a little cliff hanger. SO this is the moment you've been waiting for. What happened and how did we resolve it?     With one person not being able to make the filming site and the other person feeling disrespected this caused a lot of riffs between the group. There were some conflicts that caused a weird wedge in the group. Some words were exchanged in private that I knew wouldn't be productive and would hinder the production and film process.      Now that our first date was put behind us, it was now time to schedule another date. We went back to the scratch board and started to conspire. This time it was harder because of all the tension that was caused through it. Each member of my group had to hold back what each other thought and focus on a date to film.     Eventually we chose another date and got focused on how we were going to get there. The location we chose to film at which was a group members'

Lets Get a Roll on - (Filming)

Hey welcome back lovelies! We've been talking about our short film for a while and now that the filming is over I can dish out all the secrets. Well we're not completely done... we still need to edit but that's not the point. Anyways I'll tell you all the hot tea about our film and how it came to be.     When my team and I were first talking about our script we had an idea that we wanted to go into horror and it almost felt like it'd be a voiceless film at first. With that we were satisfied at first and left it like that for a while. That's when time started knocking down on us concerning our script and we finally got to work.           We knew that we were going to have a group of four friends hanging out so we had to decide how we were going to plant a mystery into the film. I took on the role of the person who was going to be the victim of the murder. Once we delegated our roles, filming just came by second nature.     The next part would be choosing wh
